This week I read “Santa trades reindeer for hogs” written by Tom McGee a local Denver news writer. This article was about the annual Harley Davidson toy drive. These toys are given to the sick children at the Denver hospital. All the kids where were able to watch, watched the bikes ride up with Santa and the Grinch in leather.
When I first read this the first thing I thought is what would the nurses and the doctors think of all the leather, but then I thought that as long as there doing something good why does it matter. I was thinking is the Harley Davidson toy drive a good thing? I know that it is good, but is it giving all the kids at the hospital ideas that riding a motorcycle is safe and cool. Or that it is good to always be on the road? I think it a good cause and I think more people should think about kids and teens in the hospital. Don’t you?
Late on Saturday night the British teacher Gibbons was pardon for allowing her students to name a teddy bear Muhammad. She was released to the U.K embassy Gibbons was so close to being sentenced to 40 lashes and 15 years in a Sudan prison. Know released Gibbons plans on retiring in the U.K and travel the world.

Chimpanzees have an extraordinary photographic memory that is far superior to ours, research suggests. Young chimps outperformed university students in memory tests devised by Japanese scientists. The research, published in Current Biology, suggests we may have under-estimated the intelligence of our closest living relatives. Until now, it had always been assumed that chimps could not match humans in memory and other mental skills. I think that this is cool because now we can learn that if chimps have this amount of memory. Then they can do certain jobs and we can grow on this and technology will grow for animals in some way. And I like monkeys and chimp because there that cool.

The Yale University experts say that experiments on mice could show why regular exercise can help people suffering from depression. The latest research focuses on an area of the brain called the hippocampus, which is already established as a target for antidepressant drugs. Research has shown that outdoor exercise can decrease feelings of depression and increase self-esteem by inspiring a sense of achievement - the evidence is growing that this should be treated as a clinically valid treatment.
I think that exercise helping depression is a good thing because people that are overweight and depressed get two things out of exercise. Try to put exercise in a pill is wrong because people don’t get the benefit of health and being outdoors. Just doing an experiment on mice and saying it will work is also not a guaranteed experiment for humans
Authorities in Turkey found a crashed airplane on Friday and they said that 57 people were killed in the plane crash. Thousands of people came to L Sparta to pray for the victims that died. Authorities have located the cockpits voice. They said the plane went up in the air at 1 A.M. My opinion on this is that it is very sad for a plane to crash and have 57 people die because the peoples families probably wondering where they were. They also probably felt horrible once they found out that they were dead.
Today i read that the agreement is to help thousands of homeowners avoid mortgage defaults by temporarily freezing their interest rates.The number of homeowners struggling to meet higher payments because their initial introductory rates are resetting is currently soaring.
I think that this is an excellent idea for people who need help to pay of there house. Also this will help with debt for a while in the mean time.
i read "baby dies in a house full of carbon monoxide" this story is really really really sad. it so sad that a baby only eight months old didnt get to see or know what goes on even after you are eight months old. i wish the parents or whoever was in the same house as the baby was in would have paid more attention to what was going on and at least be more protective over the child. i wish the baby could have lived to see and do more things.
I read the article a baby dies in a house full of carbon monoxcide. This story is really sad because the leak was so small it had to of taken a long time which means that the baby was suffering. Also this baby was only 8-months old so this baby never got to live a full and fulfilled life.

This article is about some police that returned three dozen burned marijuana plants to a couple after the marijuana was seized. The couple that had the marijuana had bad health conditions and a doctor recommended but at the time of the arrest they did not have a medical registry at the time so they did go to jail for only 30 hours. It does not say what happened to the police that returned the marijuana but they did break the law.
I think that the couple did deserve some time in jail not that much because of their health problem but they did not have anything to say that they were aloud to have the marijuana. It also says that the couple did not have enough money to get the license to own the marijuana so that is another reason that they should not have to spend that much time in jail.
I read about SWAT officers in Wheat Ridge who locked down 20 motels in the area to arest a man who was hideing under motel beds. The suspects Robert A. Vaughan, 40, and Melissa A. Cooner, 37, of Loveland, were accused of possesion of a deqadly weapon. They did not show up for court hearing. THey are now under arrest and are expected to be in custody
Today I read "Suspect in witness killings to avoid death penalty" It was about this guy who killed his fiancée and a witness two years ago, and was not sent to death penalty for it.
When I read this it made me think of my cousin Erica who was shot and killed by her ex-boy friend two years ago and her killer also shot Erica’s new boy friend but he was not killed but Erica was and her ex-boyfriend was not sent to the death penalty for murder.
Today i read an artical on a teen sniper who had killed 4 people in a shooting and pleaded guilty to the supreme court. He fired a shot out of his hunting rifle on an overpass and hit a pick-up truck which crashed a killed 4 people. He could face up to 20-40 years in prison.

This article was about a star that has been being tracked for 5 years now and they just clocked in at 3,000,000 MPH (wow that is fast) it also tells how it was started and how it got propelled.
I like this article it was interesting. I learned that the core of that the star was pure oxygen. It is that because of some nuclear reaction. This story also told me that the star was a supernova.
This article was all about how to tone your skies. It showed all the tools you need to make your skies sweet for skiing. It also showed the different ways to do it and what is the best for your skiing. It told about the types of waxes to use on what days. And all types of things.
I like this article because it helped me learn more about tuning my skies. For my skiing I need a hotter wax because I ski in more powder than groomed. You need a hotter wax in powder so that you can glide across the snow. The colder wax helps to get traction but also allows you to move easily across the snow.

This article was about a man named Maul Abbas an anti – torture activist. There were 100 videos posted on his videos on his account containing images of things like torture, police brutality, and sit-ins. They said that the things on his sight were “inappropriate” and that’s the reason for them shutting it down.
I think that if people didn’t think that it was appropriate for the images and the pictures to be on you tube then they don’t have to look at them. To make everyone feel better then I think that Maul Abbas could have made the things on his page a little less inappropriate so that they wouldn’t have had to shut it completely down. He puts the things that he feels on his sight and if people don’t like it they don’t have to look.
This week i read "omaha mall shooting" by USA today. This article was about a crazy guy who shot and killed eight random christmas shoppers off the third floor of the mall and then killed him self.
When I first saw this I was thinking why would he do such a thing. I also thought what would happen to the mall and how long would it be closed down beacause of the shooting? Another thing i wondered is was he aiming for those people and if he was why did he shoot them. I think this is outrageous and I wish he was still alive so he could face all these people that are mad at him.
I read Research on the Motivational and Educational Aspects of YouTube. In this entry in the Fischbowl by Karl Fisch it tells about how it can help with things like research. People are being assigned 1 of 60 videos (6 different types and 10 videos per group). Personally I don’t know how they are going to find out how its good but if they can then good for them.

I read about Micheal Vick doing dogfighting. sports.espn.com Micheal Vick lied to the judge about dogfighting and got sentenced to 23 months in jail. I have 2 dogs and I don't know how people can do that to dogs they're my favorite animal.
