“Sudan Arrests UK teacher for teddy bear blasphemy” CNN.com This article was about a teacher that allowed her 7 year old student name a class room teddy bear Mohammed. She has been charged with three months in prison because it could be seen as an insult to the Prophet Mohammed. The teacher asked the kids to name the bear because they were learning about animals habitats.
My opinion on this article is that it’s a little ridiculous how big of a deal it was that 7 year olds named a bear a name that is common where they live. I don’t get how it was “disrespectful” towards the prophet if they just named a stuffed animal Mohammed. I don’t think that they were doing anything wrong by named the bear that. Its interesting to see how the different countries punish people for doing these kinds of things that the people in the US think is totally out of the ordinary. It’s weird to thing that people from other countries can get in trouble for such little things.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7116628.stm “France holds man over 18 murders” The suspect, Nicolas Panard, is alleged to have killed 11 people in the Alsace region, four others in neighboring Franche-Comte, and three near Paris. His alleged accomplice, Slim Fezzani, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for a separate murder. Police said Mr. Panard and Mr. Fezzani were currently being questioned by police in the Franche-Comte town of Montbeliard. According to the local L'Alsace newspaper, the arrests were the result of two years' work by a police officer based in Montbeliard who had originally only been investigating a murder in 1991 in nearby Sochaux. They have no proof that Mr. Panard about the murders. The only, thing they have is that his former partner killed one of the people. In France I think they trial people to harsh.

"Two Fort Carson soldiers awarded Silver Star for bravery" www.denverpost.com
This aticle is about two soldiers from the 10th Special Forces Group have recieved the silver star for Bravery. This article is such a different part of the news. Normally the news is so depressing and doesn't talk about the acomplishments of the army and soldiers. But this article is a very uplifting article and i enjoyed reading it.
my favorite team that went form the number two in the nation to the worst.
Weis has led the Fighting Irish, who began the season unranked, to a 5-2 mark and the No. 9 ranking. Notre Dame also nearly upset top-ranked Southern California three weeks ago before coming up just short, 34-31.
I don't know if its because its all the freshman on the team that is creating an unbalanced team or the offensive coordinator or just Charlie wies is doing such a bad job. though i hope that they so better next year.
i read 10 year old denver girl found dead. this story is very tragic i think. its so difficult to accept the fact that there are people out there that are murderers and find pleasure in killing. its sad. i hate to think our world is like this and nobody really honestly cares...its no joke nobody really cares. im very upset in this and really wish i could do something about this. i wreally wish people would at least learn from their mistakes
"Starbucks Recalls 250,000 Hazardous Kids' Cups" FoxNews.com This article that i read was about thi kids cups that were mad by starbucks. Starbucks recieved seven reports of the cups breaking and two reports in which a child began to choke on a peice of the cup. When the cup drop the face of the cup can break off and leave small parts of shapes exposed edges that can pose a choking hazzard to yound children.
What i think about this whole arrticle is that well it is a mistake/accident and it could resolve in killing young children or older ones, which is not good so i think that it just needs to be fixed or the cups just need to go away so this does not happen agai
I read an article at CNN on "Teacher Charged In Teddy Bear Case"
It was aboutA British teacher arrested in Sudan after allowing her class to name a teddy bear "Mohammed" She/He has been charged by authorities with offending religion, state-run media in Sudan report. Gillian Gibbons, 54, reportedly asked her class of 7-year-olds to name the toy as part of a school project.
I think that it was a little harsh what they did. It was the kids choice to be able to name the bear that name is like an every day name. Its like saying a man like Cuddles did a terrorist attack and then saying that you couldn't name a bear that.

Today I read a quote that really meant a lot to me by Mark Twain. The quote went “If you tell the truth you don’t have to remember anything.
When I first read this I thought wow that’s true, but now that I think about it, its not really all that true because what most people don’t think about is that you will remember things that mean something to you. For example when I got this amazing limbo for my birthday it was called the chicken limbo and if you touched the chicken you were out, well anyway one of my best friends and I, Josh were playing video games in my room and I pushed him off the bed because he won. After he got up and we stopped laughing I noticed that my limbo was broken in half and I know that I will remember this forever. So my point is telling the truth is very good, but remembering is also very good. Without remembrance life would be so plain.
Indonesia is trying to plant nearly 80 million trees in a single day, in an attempt to set a new world record and deflect criticism about deforestation. Police, soldiers and local officials joined President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in the nationwide project. The plan is part of a campaign launched at UN climate change talks last year. A World Bank report puts Indonesia as the world's third largest greenhouse gas emitter - owing to deforestation, land clearing and forest fires. President Yudhoyono took part in the planting of more than 1,000 native trees in Bogor, west Java.
I think its good at what there doing we can all learn from there example. If we can plant millions of trees then we can save the environment then we can save most wild life to come
People rampaged for the third night north of Paris burning cars and violence spread to a southern city. Cops where having a hard time trying to keep the rioters controlled as they where burning cars. The trouble erupted north of Paris. 22 youths where taken into custody. In a southern city of Toulouse 20 cars were set on fire and 2 libraries were lit but the cops said the fires where easy to get out. My opinion on this is that why would people burn some bodies car when they don’t even know who’s car there burning. And why would they burn a library I think it is ridicules that people would go around burning cars.
I read about an 8th month old infant that died in a house in Montbello. The police were called at 8:15 AM with mthe report of a fire but when they got there, there was just smoke and they later found out there was carbon monoxide. When they got there the child was in extreme distress. HE later died. A ad hoc stove was found in the house. The names of the family members have not been relese and they are now being investigated for homoside accounts.
The new space crew showed up the man the craft for the thursday launch because the launch that was supossed to launch last month they found a problem with the cooling system and if they let the crew launch there would have been another columbia.
Greeley cans distribution of tobacco samples The City Council's vote to ban free handouts may cost its Stampede a major sponsor On Tuesday Greeley's City Council banned handing out free samples of tobacco The ban will not keep anyone of legal age from purchasing tobacco, just the distribution of free samples of the products, proponents say. After a month long investigation, police moved in on Saturday and searched Scheidemantel’s home and the school’s chemistry lab, where they confiscated several weapons and meth recipes, the Californian reported.
During the search of the lab, cops discovered chemicals necessary to begin producing the drug, authorities told the Californian, but no evidence of the finished drug at the school.
Scheidemantel has been placed on paid administrative leave while school officials investigate.
“A sweet way to celebrate Hanukkah” is about kids that made sufganiyot which is fried doughnut bites with jelly in the middle and rolled in sugar. For Hanukkah I made those for my family and I love to eat them. I made them for the first night of Hanukkah. It is cool that kids would make those in school.
Today I read an article called " Soccer Man U fan stabbed by BBC news". This was about a violence corrupted by 5o fnas near a bridge Stadio Olympico in Rome. The two teams Manchester United and Roma were big rivals. Some fans took it too seriously and then five guys ended up getting stabbed.
I think that this is ridiculous. First, I don't understand why you would get so mad as fans and fight each other. If any kinds of people in that game were to be mad and frustrated it should be the players. Next, I think the security should do a better job of protecting the stadium from stupid things like that. Last, rivalry games should never be taken that far.
I read about the shooting in a mall in Omaha, Nebraska. digg.com There was two deaths and five people were shot. I've actually been there Christmas shopping.
